発売されてすぐに友だちから「聴けば聴くほどよさが出てくる、スルメのようなアルバム」と薦められて聴きました。ちなみにアナログ盤でした。プロデュースがトーマス・ドルビーなので先入観がありましたが裏切られたカンジでした・・・というかいい意味でドルビー色が盛り込まれていて「ナローでメロー」なサウンドでたちまちプリファブ・スプラウトの虜に・・・・未だに車の中で時々聴いている自分にとって不朽の名盤です。特にウェンディのエンジェル・ヴォイスが心洗われます。ウェンディのボーカルが印象的な「アペタイト」がこのアルバムの中で一番です。

85年の発表当時から愛聴してます。聴けば聴くほど、味の出てくるアルバム。確かこの年には来日して、ライブも行いましたが、このアルバムからもたくさんやってくれて、レコードと同じ音を聴かせてくれたっていう思い出があります。ライブでもそうだったんですが、"Moving the River" は本当にかっこいい。あ、そうそう、このアルバムにはPrefabの定番曲 "When Love Breaks Down" も入ってるよ。

アルバム ジャケットが，音楽の内容を余すところ無く語っている。
フォーク ソングやカントリ ミュージックの要素を含みながらも，決してそれらをそのまま出さず，英国の曇った空のフィルタ(?)を通している。

メンバの表情やいでたちは，行き場の無い不安と純真さを併せ持った，青春の姿だ。そして音のほうも-若干の気恥ずかしさを承知で言えば-青春の瑞々しさに溢れている。
