いかにも凝ったつくりとなってるのは驚き。
ギターの使い方がとにかく巧い、今でも断然光ってる音がここにはギュッと詰め込まれてる。
買って納得のアルバムですよ、コレは。

旧譜再評価／再発売ブームによって持ち上げられた１枚という気がします。爽やかな音で聴きやすいし、７０年代のＡＯＲやソウル、フュージョン周辺の音が好きな向きには違和感がないでしょうが、深く引っかかってくる曲とかフレーズ、全体的な質感はないように思います。同じ手触りの曲を一杯集めてミックスでも作ろうか、なんて時には１~２曲拾えますが、この手のジャンルを深堀りしていない、またはするつもりのない方はあえて購入しなくてもいいのではないかと思います。

たった一つの大絶賛レビューにつられて買ってしまいましたが、それほどでもないような気がします。
ヴォーカルにも曲調にもそれ程の個性は伺えず、E,W&Fのバッタモンというイメージは拭えません。
当初は２枚目も買ってみるつもりでしたが、１枚目を聴いてやめました。
そもそもフリーソウルって、どういうジャンルやねん？
