愛読書だった『銀河鉄道の夜』がアニメ映画化されて20年以上が経つが、当時、自分だけのイメージを壊された気がして好きになれなかった。今にして思えば、余りに印象的に心に焼き付けられ、嫉妬に近い感情だった気がする。その印象度をさらに深くしているのが、細野晴臣氏によるこの幻想的なサントラである。そういえば当時、嫌い嫌いと言いながらLPレコードを買ったっけ。まるで好きなくせに素直になれなかった初恋のような作品なのです。今ではこのCDで『銀河鉄道の夜』の世界に浸っています。目を閉じればそこは私だけの世界…。

この曲は映画にもピッタリ合っていて、幻想的な不思議な曲です。広大な夏の星空を見上げながらこの曲を聞くと、映画の世界に入ったような気持ちにさせてくれます。

宮沢賢治原作の「銀河鉄道の夜」のアニメ映画のサウンドトラック。
劇中でも細野氏の音楽は効果的に使用され、映画の魅力をさらに引き立たせる魅力をもった本作品は、
アルバムの中にもまた違った幻想的な世界が描かれているような気分に浸れる。
それぞれの曲ごとに違った表情や場面をもち、新鮮さが絶え間なく注がれていて、
アルバム全曲聴きとおせるほどに飽きさせることは一度もなかった。
最後の曲であるエンド・テーマ「銀河鉄道の夜」の辿り着いた頃には、
ひとつの映画を見終えたような心地よさが残り、とても気持ちが良かった。
是非オススメ。
