　私は、この中の一曲目「ヒノズ・レゲエ」が特に好きだ。ベスト版に、この曲は収録されておらず、この『シティーコネクション』でしか聴くことができない。だから、この一曲の為に買いなのです。

　コアなジャズファンからは、見向きもされない作品だと思うが、70年代ソウルが好きな人には受け入れやすいと思う。何故なら、アルバム名義は日野皓正だが、実際はL.ペンダーヴィスのアルバムと言っていいからだ。2曲目の「ウェイキング・ハート」なんて歌詞があるし、ペンダーヴィスの曲の間奏を日野皓正が客演したような感じだ。

　タイトル曲は今の時代に聞くと、ちょっと大袈裟で照れくさく感じるかな･･･。でも、最初の2曲の為に買う価値は十分あると思う。発売された当時はフュージョン全盛期であり、多数のフュージョンアルバムが出たが、その中でも数少ない、今聴いても十分通用する一作である。

フュージョンに分類されるとおもうのですが、かなり凝った？変わった？
曲がならんでいます。僕は、アナログで購入しましたが、この時代の
フュージョンって特に不人気なんですよね・・・３００円とかで
アナログは売られています。
このアルバムは、渡米後の新鮮さ、フリージャズからの回帰と
今聴く価値があるとおもわれる理由に以上の二点があります。

ありそうでなかった新鮮で明快なヒノテル！おすすめです。

最近、とある雑誌で本作が紹介されているのを目にし、なんとなく聴きたくなって衝動買いしました。確かに、"日野皓正"って人の名前も顔も、それから、Jazzをやってる人だということはずっと前から知ってはいたのですが、別段、このような機会がなければ恐らく聴かずに過ごしたと思います。
'79年録音という事で新し目の作品ではありませんが、丁度、フュージョンブームの折り、彼の日野氏もハードバップ的なジャズというよりはアーバンジャズというか、非常に初心者にも聴きやすい曲を満載してくれています。そういう意味で、私にとっては◎作品でした。さまざまな曲に入る女性ボーカルがいい意味で曲に潤いを与えているのも効果的です。こういった身近(?)なミュージシャンにも目を・耳を配らないといけない、と言ういい例です。＞自分
タイトル曲他、CMソングにも使われていたらしいのですが、生憎、聞き覚えがありませんでした。
＃裏購入理由は、D.スピノザ/L.ペンダーヴィスが参加しているから (^^;
