ドクターフィールグッドの記念すべきデビューアルバムでありパブロックを語る時に外せないアルバムです。！特に1曲目の「SHE DOSE IT RIGHT」を聴いた時の衝撃は今でも忘れられません。ギターのウイルコ・ジョンソンは同じ英国のロックンロールバンド、ジョニーキッド＆パイレーツのギタリスト、ミック・グリーンから多大な影響を受けた事を公言してます。プレイの面ではミック・グリーンが元祖カミソリギタリストなど言われてますが、ウイルコの場合はカミソリというよりもノコギリのようで低音弦をピックを使わずガツガツとリズムをダウンピッキングで刻みながらもリフを入れるプレイは斬新ではなかったでしょうか。ステージに立った時の４人のお互いを無視したクールなパフォーマンスは最高です。フィールグッド未聴の方は取り合えずこの1枚から！

シンプルでソリッドなロックンロール。ギター＋ベース＋ドラム＋うた。無愛想さとか古臭さを感じる向きもあるかもしれないが、言うなればちゃんとした蕎麦屋みたいなもの、ロック好きな人はその真っ当さを堪能して欲しい。

パブロックの王道、その後に繋がるパンクスの元祖なのかもしれないけど、いやいや、音楽的にはかなり凝ろうとしているのが良く分かるし、WILKOがいたためここまでソリッドになってるように感じます(バンドの方向感としてはコステロの感じだったのかなと今となっては思っています)。
とにかく、DR.FEELGOODはWILKO JHONSON在籍時につきますな。ソリッド、カミソリみたいな切れ味なのにゴムまりのような柔らかさも兼ね備えていて、こんなギター弾ける人他にいません。その後ソロプロジェクトも出してますが、う〜ん、やっぱりこれかな。デビュー作にして最高傑作ではないでしょうか。
特にギターを手に取られる方、必聴ですヨ。モノラル録音なんて気にしない、気にしない！1曲目なんか似たような曲やってるバンドもあったけど、絶対こんな感じにならないですもんね。
