リッチーが抜けた後のパープルであるが、個人的に非常にお気に入りのアルバムである。デビカバ、グレン・ヒューズ、トミー・ボーリンと私の好きなミュージシャンが揃っているアルバムなんだから悪いわけが無い。３曲目のファンキーなチューンなんて、めちゃかっこいいやん。３人ともボーカルできるというのも良い。リッチーのファンの方には怒られるかも知れないけど、私にとってのスーパーバンドはこれ。名前を変えて出してたら、もっと評価されたのかもね。

Tommy Bolinの大ファンなのですが、私も含めて多くの人がTommyを知るきっかけとなったのは、やはりTommyが第５期のメンバーとしてDEEP PURPLEに加入した事であることは確かでしょう。パープル＝リッチーなのは事実としても本作は一枚のアルバムとして充分面白いと思います。特に８.a)~b)など従来の音楽性から進化していこうとする当時のバンドの姿勢が伝わってくる名曲です。先入観なしで聞くことをお奨めします。

素晴らしい！！天才ソングライター、ボーリンの才能全快のアルバムですね。これは当時、レコードを擦り切れるまで聴きました。ボーリンのセンスの良さは少なくとも３０年は先を行ってましたね。だって、これって２００５年の今聴いてなんでこんなに凄げ~の、って思う位だし。こりゃ３０年前は誰も評価できなくて当たり前？とマジ思います。同時期のボーリンのソロ"Teaser"も素晴らしい作品。アルバムのメンツみたら今では想像つかないブッタマゲのメンバー、ボーリンって人望厚かったんですね。あっ、それから"JamesGang"でのプレイも凄いの一言。ハイワットとストラトのミドル・ポジションのトーンはとてもリッチ。何より緻密で繊細な音選びには脱帽。
