Ｊａｚｚアルバムとしてはポップス色が濃い感もあるが、ヴォーカルものとすれば、聴きやすく、また完成度もおしゃれ度も文句のつけようが無い。ドラムレスとは思えないパンチの効いた作品で、ジャズとこだわるよりも一音楽作品として高く評価できるとおもう。

顕著に出るのは、“ホリー・コール色”というか、彼女の圧巻の個性。歌っているというより演じている女優のような感じでステージが彼女の舞台なんだなあと思わせる。溢れる才能を垣間見る（イヤ、垣間聞く）オリジナリティに満ちたアレンジも含めて、他の誰にも似ていない、また、とても真似できないパフォーマンスを体感できる。

一曲目「Trust In Me」は、なんかどこかで聴いたことあると思ったら、ディズニーのクラシック「ジャングル・ブック」の中で、大蛇がモーグリ少年を食おうと思って蛇の目で催眠術をかけながら「あなたはねむくな~る…」ってな感じで歌ってた歌。
「ＳＭＩＬＥ」は、個人的に大好きな曲で、色々なアーティストのを数知れず聞いていますが、このホリーバージョンは、１、２を争う素晴らしさで泣けてくる。
このアルバムで、一番だと思うのは、マイ・フェア・レディからの「On the Street Where You Live」の熱唱！
とても個性的なアレンジで情景や情感がひしひしと伝わる圧倒的な表現力に脱帽。

「ホリー・コール劇場」をぜひご堪能あれ。

当時CALLING YOUが売れ、年末番組（レコ大？）にもホリーが出たのをうっすら覚えています。 <br />当時シングルに収録されていたCALLING YOUとGOD WILLだけに期待を持って購入したこのアルバムは、意外や意外！全てにおいてとても聴きやすい曲ばかりです。１０年以上経った今でも全然古くさく感じない曲達。CALLING YOUのような少々暗めのモノもあれば、ついリズムをとったり口ずさんでしまう曲もあります。 <br />今は春ですが、秋の夜長にはもってこいのアルバムですね。

声の好き嫌いは分かれるところでしょうけれど
私は好きです。
声もいいけど、アレンジも良い。

大抵カバー曲は原曲がベストだなと思うことが多いのですが
彼女にかかるとそう言えません。
特に「スマイル」は私にとってベスト。
誰も超えられないかも。
（最近ではテレビでエルビス・コステロやロッド・スチュワートのカバーが流れています。）

「マイ・フェアレディ」の挿入歌も入っていますが
全く趣の異なるものとなっていて面白いです。

物凄く落ち込んでいる時、偶然手にしたアルバムですが
人生には音楽が必要だ。
私には彼女の歌が必要だ~！と叫びたくなる作品でした。

もちろん「コーリング・ユー」も最高です。

アルバム原タイトルは別アルバムに収録されています。

そちらもオススメ。
