「風や波の音とおなじ種類の音楽を創る」というのが、S.E.N.S. のコンセプト。つまりそれは、このベスト・アルバムのタイトルである「透明な音楽」。収録されているのは、S.E.N.S の担当したTVドラマのサウンドトラックや CM 曲など全256曲から選んだ、心を穏やかにしてくれる柔らかな14曲です。

　S.E.N.S.の作るメロディには常に「切なさ」を感じる。一般的に言われるヒーリングミュージックとも少し違った「人生」をも感じさせる音楽作りなのである。まさに、彼ら（彼と彼女）にしか作り得ないであろう、その哀愁漂うメロディライン・サウンドの数々は、たびたび使用されてきた映像の世界から独立させた音楽の世界でも鋭く私たちの胸に突き刺さる。
　実は、私が初めてそのメロディを意識したのは遅くて、ＴＶ「あすなろ白書」からであった。このドラマのストーリーの良さに見落とされがちだったのであるが、S.E.N.S.はここで実に印象的なメロディを作り上げていて（track4,14)、時には優しく、時には切なくその音楽は流されていた。それはドラマ「青い鳥」においても同じなのであるが、情景が目に浮かぶような音楽とはこのことである。
　単に耳障りの良い音楽を作り上げるには、メロディラインさえしっかりしていれば、一般のミュージシャンにとってそう困難なことではないかもしれない。しかし、力量が問われるのはそこからで、ここで彼らは状況に応じて、さまざまな楽器とバックボーカルで実に印象的にアレンジしている。それと曲によっては、いわゆる音楽の「間」の使い方がうまいのだ（track4,8等）。
　タイトルにある「透明」という言葉には多少の違和感もあるのだが、このような素晴らしいサウンドはこうして生み出されたのではなかろうか。

　やっと探し当てた曲が、Ｒemembering Ｍeでした。韓国ドラマ「美しき日々」の挿入曲として使われていて、誰の曲か分からずに、偶然テレビのＢＧＭでかかっていて、テレビ局に問い合わせてわかりました。ドキドキしてＣＤを聴きました。「あすなろ白書」や「輝く季節の中で」など他の曲もとても良くドラマのシーンが思い出されます。今や我が家の定番です。その後センスファンが多いことを知りました。早く教えてよゥ！
