キース・ジャレットのファンなので、演奏者のところに彼の名前があるために購入しました。彼がジャズ・メッセンジャーズに属していたことは何かで聞いたことがあったのですが、実際このバンドでの演奏は聞いたことがなかったからです。また、彼がI remember ClifordやWisper notをトリオでのコンサートで取りあげているので、聞き比べの興味もありました。が、彼が演奏しているのはMy romanceだけ、とCDライナーでの解説で分かり、少々がっかりしました。しかし、魅力は別のところにありました。My romanceでのキースの叙情的でスキのない名人芸的ソロはもちろん好きですが、やはりNight in Tunisiaのライブの迫力は凄い！スタジオ版とは違った、原始的なリズムと管の織りなす激しいフレーズに圧倒されました。
