2000年2月アムステルダムで録音。
Enrico Pieranunzi(p), Hein Van de Geyn(b), Hans van Oosterhout(ds).

珍しいことにウェイン・ショーターの作品のみを集めたという異色作。ショーターはおそらく、管楽器でテーマを演奏することを想定して作曲しているのではないかと思うが、それを巧みに編曲し、ピアノ．トリオで演奏している。

あまり知られていないジャズ・メッセンジャーズ時代の2曲（「Sleeping Dancer, Sleep On」, 「This Is For Albert」）を取り上げているところなど、マニアックな色合いもある。しかもこの2曲はなかなかの曲だ。また、トップとラストを名作『Speak No Evil』からの曲で固めて、ミステリアスな雰囲気を醸し出している。『Adam's Apple』からのバラード「teru」もいい。

演奏内容としては、ピアノの中低域を中心に使用し、モーダルで重めの落ち着いた音作りが特徴的で、いつものピエラヌンツィとはやや異なるハードボイルドな味付けを感じる。

世の中では，所謂エバンス派と言われることの多いEnrico Pieranunziが何とWayne Shorter曲集に挑むということは意外な感があるが，予想を上回る快演に嬉しくなる一枚である。そもそもEnricoのライブでは時としてフリーなアプローチも提示しており，彼が単なるエバンス派でないことは明らかではあるが，ファンと言えどもShorterの曲との相性には疑問を呈する向きもあろう。しかしながら，ここに収められた演奏，特にスロー〜ミディアム･スローの演奏の美しさには陶然とさせられる思いであり，決して期待を裏切らない。アップ･テンポの曲ではピアノの音がやや硬く録音されているように感じるが，これがEnricoのピアノ・タッチゆえかもしれない。いずれにしても，評者がWayne Shorterファンということは差し引いても，本作は多作家のEnricoのアルバムの中でも上位に位置するアルバムと言ってよい演奏だと思う。バックのリズム隊も好演で，バラード系の演奏だけなら間違いなく5つ星。

この恐るべきピアニストが、耽美性だけでは語りきれない大きな才能であることを痛感させられる重要な１枚。　１曲目の "Wildflower"の、ぞっとするくらい抑制された美的感覚はどうだ。　ビル・エヴァンスの "Israel" "Nardis"も真っ青の出来。　"Sleeping Dancer,Sleep On"は静かな小品にも関わらず、彼のバラード演奏としては最高の１曲である。　長く音楽家のための音楽家であったショーターとその作品達は、この１枚で完全に開放された。　素晴らしい！　どれだけ賞賛しても足りない程の傑作である。
