ガンズを脱退してもスラッシュの奏でるギターは相変わらず最高。スピード感あふれるノリノリな曲あり、バラードありの充実作。曲のバリエーションの豊富さも圧巻。どこをとってもスラッシュだらけ。ガンズを結構知ってる人、最近ガンズに興味を持った人、とにかく聴きましょう。

GN'Rを脱退してから出されたスラッシュのソロプロジェクト第二弾。メンバーも一新、前回のアルバムがGN'R色が強かったのに対し、今回のアルバムでは骨太なサウンドになっています。

特にボーカリストはKISSのポール・スタンレーのようなボーカルスタイルで、グングンと楽曲を引っ張っていっています。その分、GN'Rのファンの人に手放しで勧められる内容ではないかも知れませんが、スラッシュのギターは以前にもましてエモーショナルで聞き応えが充分あります。
特にレスポールのギターを使う人は参考になる一枚だと思います。

　2000年、SNAKEPITの2nd。

　メンバーが一新されていますが、やはり一番気になるのはヴォーカル。
　ロッド・ジャクソンなる人物になっています。
　他のレビューにあるように、なるほど、KISSのポール・スタンレーのようである。

　そのせいか、曲が、ロックンロール・パーティ風？、パンク風？な感じのものが多く、
シンプルなノリを大事にした曲になっています。

　Ｇソロは、モロにSlashで、とても気に入ってますが。。。
　GN'Rや、SNAKEPITの1stにあった、ブルージーさやエモーショナル感が、乏しくなった気がします。

　このアルバムを聴くと、
「GN'R → SNAKEPIT 1st → このアルバム → VELVET REVOLVER」という流れが、自然と出てきます。
　その流れで捉えると、このアルバムの音楽性が良く分かると思います。

　どこを切っても、Slashサウンドが溢れ出す「いいアルバム」です。
　ですが、個人的には、1stのほうが好きだったので、差をつけて「☆4つ」とさせていただきます。
（っていうか、Slashとポール・スタンレーの共演が見たいです！）

　tr.13、14は、日本盤ボートラです。
