　ああ、なんといったらいいのか、とても好きです。他のどんなアーティスト、アルバムを押さえて、私にとってはオールタイムベストです。でも、ヘッドホンして真剣に聴いていると頭がおかしくなりそうな音楽でもあります。特に「スターレス」は頭のヒューズが飛びそうになります。

　そういえば、昔の渋谷陽一のサウンドストリートという番組で（古い！！）、ヘビーメタルベストテンという企画があって、レッドツェッペリンやらモーターヘッドやら全部押さえて、タイトル曲「レッド」が堂々の１位だったのにたまげた記憶があります。

黎明期から成熟期にいたるＫＣのラストアルバム。
タイトルは裏ジャケにもあるとおり、臨界点（ＲＥＤ　ＺＯＮＥ）に
いってしまいました・・・という意味でのＲＥＤです。

様々なメンバーチェンジを繰り返し、究極のメンバー、演奏を求めて
きたフィリップ大先生が得た答えが、この作品と唐突な解散宣言であった
と言えるでしょう。

1は歴史に残る、メタル・プログレ最初の曲。インストですが、とにかく
赤の世界における衝撃・破壊力を表現した名曲。
うって変わって2では静から動に変化しつつも美しさを失わない名曲。
そして4から5につながるエピローグは、偉大なバンドＫＣの一時的な
休息を伝える名曲。

世間でプログレメタルと言われるバンドが多いですが、その先駆となった<P!>作品として、歴史的にも非常に価値のある大傑作だと思います。
（これとＺＥＰのＰＨＹＳＩＣＡＬ　ＧＲＡＦＦＩＴＴＩでしょう。
