ブランドン・ロス（g）、メルヴィン・ギブス（b）、J.T.ルイス（ds）によるアヴァン
・ジャズ・ファンク・ロック・トリオの2作目。1998年7月に行われた数カ所でのライヴ
音源を元に構成されている。ほとんどの曲のクレジットが三人の名義になっており聴い
た感じからも判断するにインプロヴィゼーション中心の作品と思われる。ただハードな
インプロヴィゼーション／インタープレイの応酬というよりはお互いの腹のさぐり合い
のような緊張感が支配的だ。そのせいかアッパーな演奏ではなくダウナーな雰囲気が横
溢している。注目のブランドン・ロスはロック的な音色の歪んだギターで、ソロを弾く
というよりはキャンヴァスにモノトーンの絵を描いていくかのような、セロニアス・モ
ンクのピアノをも思わせるような演奏を聴かせる。
