リアルブラックメタルの雄メイヘムの凶悪なまでのライヴアルバム。色々なところで、音質の悪さが言われているようですが、私が聴く限りでは特に音質の悪さを意識することなく聴くことが出来ましたけどね。もっともこの邪悪な音世界において音質云々言うこと自体が無意味なことかもしれませんね。
このライヴアルバムは、LIVE IN LEIPZIGに比べるとヤバさは劣るかもしれませんが、それでも十分邪悪な香りがぷんぷん漂ってきます。リアルブラックメタルに理解のない方が手を出すのは、極めて危険と言わざるを得ません。しかし、いちいちリアルなんて言葉を付けないとうまく音楽性が伝わらないなんて、やな時代になったもんだ。昔はブラックメタルで全ての人に通じたんだけどねぇ。言うまでもなくリアルっていうのは、本物のって意味ですよ!

イタリアでのライブを収録したメイヘムの２作目となるライブアルバム。
このライブではマニアックがヴォーカルを務めており、ギターはブラスフェマー、ベースはネクロブッチャー、ドラムはヘルハマーというラインナップで演奏されています。
選曲は文句無しの選曲でミニ・アルバム、Wolf's Lair Abyssに収録されている曲が総て演奏されています。（１曲目は除く。）
音質はLive in Leipzigと比べれば少しはマシですが、相変わらず音質は悪いです。（ギターはLive in Leipzigの方が良く聴き取れます。）
ライブの邪悪さでいえばLive in Leipzigの方が数段上を行っています。
このアルバムの聴き所はマニアックの聴き取り不能な絶叫ヴォーカルと、なんといってもヘルハマーの鬼の様なドラムです。
特にラスト２曲でのブラストの嵐には完全に魂を抜かれてしまいました。
てか、オープニングでの高速タム回しで即やられてしまうでしょう。
因みにこのライブ、９曲目に呪文ヴォーカリスト、アッティラがゲストで登場してマニアックと一緒に歌っています。

イタリアでのライブを収録したライブアルバムです。
個人的にヘルハマーの超絶ドラムが聴きたいという方はこれを一番聴くのがいいのではないかと思います。
まずドラムがかなり目立った音質となってます。特に低音の聴いたウォークマンなどで聴いてるとまさに地獄の鉄槌で頭を殴られてるような迫力があります。
この音質で豪速ブラストかますものだから、もう大変なことになっています。特に#11は他の曲よりブラストがさらに速く、失神ものです。ブラストだけでなく、スラッシュビートもタム回しもかなり速く、さらにシンバルの入れ方などおかずも面白いものが多いです。
ちょっと乱雑な部分もありますが、それが武器になってる感じです。

ドラム以外にもヴォーカルもひたすら高音でわめきまくってます＃6のタイトルコール後の叫びはまさに悪魔。
ギターも音質のせいで、引っ込みがちですが、特におかしいところがなく再現しており、ベースも結構前に出てます。

ちなみに、＃9では1st収録の名曲、FROM THE DARK PASTに1stでボーカルを務めたアッティラが参加し、マニアックと一緒にデュエット（笑）しています。ハモッてるみたいで面白いです。

選曲も良く、おススメの一品です。
