ここ数年の作品の中では、テーマとして一番重いアルバムかもしれない。全10曲のうち、いわゆる恋愛のラブ・ソングというのはたった2曲で、残りの楽曲は人生観や大きな意味の愛といったものがテーマになっている。ドライヴのお供に的な作品ではなく、これはじっくり作品と取り組みたくなるようなアルバムだ。ただし難しいアルバムではなく、わかりやすい言葉で綴られた聴きやすい、輪郭のはっきりした作品だ。もちろん、彼ならではの美しいメロディ・ラインも健在、テーマは重いが、決してヘヴィな音楽ではない。 (角野恵津子) --- 2000年06月号

徳永英明といえばいまあの、”輝きながら”のイメージをもっている人、特に男性に聴いて欲しい。デビュー以来の彼の顔つきの変遷同様、曲にも彼の生き方の葛藤・模索の中から生まれたメッセージがある。

切なげなメロディと独特の声を枯らせたようなパワーのある歌声のせいか、過去作品の中で最も重厚な印象を受けました。
徳永の持つ影の部分が際立っている作品集ではないかと思います。
一般ウケするような曲は少ないですが、彼の世界にドップリつかりたい方にはとてもオススメしたいです。

このアルバムは、私を完全に徳永英明というアーチィストに引き込ませた!
その中の一曲「Positions of life」が、特に好きだ。
どうしようもなく、落ち込んでた時に「傷付いて胸が壊れそうでも、瞳だけはあの空をみて どんな日も 強い気持ちがあれば そこに名前が残る!」という歌詞が、徳永さんの優しさあふれる声に乗って聞いた時 心が洗われる気がして涙が止まらなくなった。
