ヴェルーカ・ソルトを脱退後初となるニーナ・ゴードンのソロ・アルバム。プロデュースはヴェルーカ時代の盟友、ボブ・ロックが担当。ヴェルーカ時代に比べ、エモーショナルなミディアム・テンポの曲が多く占める作品に仕上がった。「シーザー」のようなキャッチーなサビを持つノリのいいロックを期待して聴くと、意外と地味に感じるかも。しかし、根底にはある種ロックねえさん的な力強さがずっしりと横たわっているのに気づき、思わずニヤリ。これは今の素の姿なのだろう。まずは彼女の再出発を祝福したい。 (編集部) --- 2000年09月号

元ヴェルーカ・ソルトのメンバー、ニーナ・ゴードンのソロとして初となるのがこのアルバムです。彼女はバンド時代に曲もきちんと書いてきただけあってこのアルバムに収められている曲にはロックな曲ももちろん収められていますが、とってもいいバラード系の曲も数曲収められています。アルバム全体に統一感があります。またこのアルバムには元ヴェルーカ・ソルトで現アメリカン・ハイ・ファイのステイシーもドラムで参加していたりもするので彼のファンの人も聞いてみると面白いかもしれません。ちなみにニーナはこのアルバムでジ・エンド・オブ・ザ・ワールドをカバーもしているのですが、これも彼女の色にきっちり染まった良い感じのカバーになっているのでチェックしてみてください。

元ヴェルーカ・ソルトのメンバー、ニーナ・ゴードンソロ1stアルバム。問題なく曲が良すぎる。それでいて安い。ポップ全快で、泣きのメロディが贅沢に盛り込まれてる極上の1枚。
