   ヴァイオリニストのギドン・クレーメルと彼のアンサンブル、クレメラータ・バルティカは、バロックから現代までさまざな音楽のレパートリーに取り組んできたが、彼らはもっと新しい作品にも光を当てようとしているようである。このグループはバルト海沿岸地域の音楽の動向に通じているし、クレーメルの冷たいほどの精密さと情熱的な演奏ぶりは、現代の巨匠たちにぴったりと合っている。

   「シレンシオ」についてクレーメルはもう1つ、すばらしいレコーディングを行っているが、今回は、アルヴォ・ペルト、フィリップ・グラス、ウラディーミル・マルティノフという一匹狼的な作曲家3人による瞑想的な音楽をフューチャーしている。

   マルティノフはこの3人のなかではたぶんもっとも名前が知られていないが、このディスクのハイライト曲となるのは彼の作品「“カム・イン！”」である。人の心を動かすこの作品――ロマンティックで抒情的な演奏がたっぷりとあるのが特徴である（時折ドアをノックする音が聞こえる）――は、神秘的であるが、また優しくも甘美である。

   グラスの弦楽四重奏曲第2番を管弦楽用に編曲した作品（「カンパニー」）は、クロノス弦楽四重奏団によるオリジナルとほとんど同じくらい迫力がある。世界初演のペルトの短い曲が、このディスクを完全なものにする。「ダルフ・イッヒ」はヴァイオリンとオーケストラのためのすばらしい作品で、ペルトの傑作“スンマ”を思い起こさせる。

アルバムの７〜１２番目という中途な場所にある「Ｃｏｍｅ ｉｎ！」をこのところ毎朝毎晩かけている。

ウラディーミル・マルティノフ（1946〜）というロシアの現代音楽作家の作品。ここまで美しいものがあったか…と、題名からは想像つかない甘美でリリックな弦の調べが部屋に満ちる。

曲中、リリックな進行を破るようにして「鍛冶屋のポルカ」で使われるような明るく乾いた音色のウッドブロックがリズムを刻むだす、深山の静けさを更に深めるようでもあり…この箇所がとてもいい。

Martynovの曲は名曲だと思います。サビの部分は、ドレミファソラシ．．．とゆっくり昇っていくだけですが、そんな曲は他にもあったような気もしますが、とにかく美しくて癒されます。単調さを感じさせない演奏も素晴らしい。
