　カリフォルニア州はサンディエゴ出身のpost rock band、tristezaの2nd album。
　tiger styleからのリリース。

　post rockにカテゴライズするにはその輪郭ははっきりしていて、メロディーとグルーブが際立って美しい調和のとれた曲を奏でるインストバンド。
　昔はhard coreだったらしいくて、そんな片鱗を見せないようなゆったり柔らか音楽ですが、赤道に程近い街並みに注ぐ日光のような、内に秘める熱を感じます。

　何よりも顕著なのが、生の音に近いギターのメロディックなアルペジオ。
　ジャケの波紋のように、滴が落ちて１つ広がっては消えていき、また生まれるような美しさ、儚さのイメージです。
　それがベース、ドラムの骨組みとシンセによる肉付けで、しっかりした土台の上にちりばめられていて、とても聞きやすい。

　一度は解散してしまいましたが、今はthe album leafとしてソロ活動をしているjimmy lavalleを除いた状態で活動を続けています。

ネット上で某レビューを読んで興味が湧いたため、
初めて買ったアーティストでした。
普段エレクトロニカものが好きで聴いてますが、
これはpostrockでしょうか(境界線はいまいち分かりません)、
雰囲気的に通ずるものがありますね。

tristezaとは「悲しみ｣という意味。
でも全体的に漂う感じはそういった寂寥感とか哀愁サウンドというよりは

もっと爽やかでポジティブな印象。
ただメロディラインとかはちょっとメローな感じも受けます。
pele(聴いたことない)から疾走感を省いた感じと表現する人もいるみたい。

そして全編通して清涼感のある（まさに)透明サウンド。
似たりよったりという感もあるが､良い意味で捉えれば統一感があります。
夕方とかにこれ聞きながら寝入っちゃったりしてる顛末。
特にare　we　peopleなんかはシングルカットされてるみたいで､
完成度の高さに納得。
他の旧譜もチェック要れとこーと思わされる出来栄えの作品でした。
（一緒に買った違うCDがあまりにも良かったため強烈なインパクトは
なかったけど･･･）
