音楽界に独仏戦争勃発!~ 現在外資系CDショップにおいて旋風を巻き起こしているフランスのタヒチ80に対する、なんとドイツからの回答が登場したのだ。その名はマイルス。本国ではかなりの人気バンドで通算3枚目のアルバムとなるのだが、これだけの逸材が世に紹介されずにこれまで眠っていたのは本当に惜しい! ビーチ・ボーイズやゾンビーズなどの60年代なマジカルなポップ・センスの咀嚼の仕方がすでにタヒチと同等の力量。これだけでも十分に聴かせるものがある。リズム面では現代的なループの多用が光るタヒチに分があるものの、ギター・バンドとしての力量はピクシーズをも彷彿とさせるこちらの方が上。加えて最近とみに人気のストリングスをこのバンドも使っているが、いわゆるバーバンク的な包み込むような音色とは異なるどこか硬くてぎこちない肌触りもジャーマン気質ぽくて興味深くもある。タヒチとぜひ日本の地でライヴ対決をしてほしい! ドイツ出身のメロディアスでキャッチ―な音楽、クリアな発音で中性的なボーカル、そして流れるような曲構成で素晴らしいＭＩＬＥＳのアルバムです。ドライブなんかの時にかけるのに最適な爽やかな曲ぞろいで、ポップ・ファンはマスト・アイテムです！

ドイツ出身のメロディアスバンド。
ＣＤの帯にはニルヴァーナ、ピクシーズ、ソニックユースを聴いて育った…とあるが、そんなんとぢゃうで。
アンダーグラウンドのカリスマぽんちゃん的な解釈は「哀愁のチョコレートパフェ」なのだ！
しかも渋い哀愁ではなく、甘い哀愁。それも甘い甘さじゃなくて甘えん坊の甘さ。泣き虫野郎の甘さ。というのがぴったりであろう。
ぽんちゃん的には5曲以上続けて聴くとあまりの甘さに胸やけしてしまうところが減点１だがかなりのメロディーセンスなのでポップファンには是非聴いていただきたい。
コアなロックファンには苦しい内容だが、英国以外のヨーロッパのプチロックファンには思わずニヤリとするサウンドが見え隠れするので要チェック。
＃１＃８＃１０を聴けば彼らがどんなバンドが分かるので機会があれば試聴してください。
