バークリー音大ではブランフォードやケヴィン・ユーバンクス、ドナルド・ハリソンらと同級生。10年前、ジャズ・ヴォーカルの新星として注目されたラシェルだが、その後は本来のというべきか、コンテンポラリー~R&B路線に傾斜。久しぶりの新作となる本作もセカンド作の路線を踏襲したソウルフルなR&B作品。プロデュースはジョージ・デューク。いわゆるリズムを強調したスタイルではなく、じっくり聴かせるバラード調のナンバー中心。声域の広さは相変わらず魅力。なんとなくミニー・リパートンを思わせる世界だ。 (市川正二) --- 2000年08月号

このアルバムを聞いたとたんに鳥肌がたった。
こんなに，ソウルフルに歌い上げるシンガーはあまりいないのではないか。
アメリカでも，人気みたいです。ライブパフォーマンスもすばらしく，圧倒されます。
近年，日本では，HIPHOPよりの軽いR&Bばかりが目立つので，彼女のようシンガーにあまりスポットがあたっていないような気がして残念。

そろそろ，軽いノリの音に飽食気味の人は必聴です。
常に手元においておきたい一枚になるはずです。

いいマテリアルを歌えば楽勝でノラジョーンズに勝てるすばらしいシンガー、コンポーザー。過小評価されすぎな部分が非常に残念。この人の弱点は『ち~~と歌い過ぎてしまう』部分。それは自分の歌唱力を過信し過ぎているからなのだが。ゴスペル、Ｒ＆Ｂ、ジャズをブレンドしたシンガースタイルはかなり刺激的。歌はかなりうまい。

１０点中６点　ジョージデュークがプロデュース

ミニー･リパートン「ラビング･ユー」を彷彿とさせる「超音波ハイトーン」も凄いが、全体の雰囲気がとても心地いい★スムース･ジャズというよりは、アシッド･ジャズに感覚が近いものや、まるで後期のスティーリーダンのような（１）なども嬉しい。全体に、穏やかでマッタリとした演奏が続くが、突如（６）のような超攻撃的な曲が、ヒョッコリ現れて、ちょっと焦る（笑い★）いいですよ★ジョージ･デューク＆レニー･カストロが参加。
