おそらく、８０年代の洋楽ファンしか知らないだろうこの
「エイスワンダー」というバンド。
このバンドの中心人物のパッツィ・ケンジットという女性、
当時若干１９歳。
その頃の私とそう年齢が変わらないのに、この美貌。
…と言っても、この写真じゃ何だか分からんが。
実は、この女性は本来歌手ではなく、一応しがない女優さん
なのである。
年少の頃から映画のチョイ役で出てそれから毎年のように
チョイ役三昧。
有名な映画だと「リーサル・ウェポン２」だろうか。
いや、それくらいしか思い出せない。
しかし、ホントに可愛かった、パッツィ。
このアルバムでも、とても上手いとは言えないが、
それ以上のキュートな歌ごえでそんな歌唱力などプラマイゼロだった。
収録曲に当時のノエビア化粧品のＣＭで1が使われ、
4もちょくちょくＴＶなどで耳にした事があると思う。
まぁ、懐かしいと思った方は、買ってみてはどうでしょうか？

パッツイー・ケンジットの結婚であっという間に消滅してしまったグループですが、80年代末に登場した典型的な80年代サウンドを楽しめる数枚のアルバムを残しました。このアルバムは1stアルバムの前に登場したデビュー曲の Stay With Me と 浮気なテディ・ボーイが収録された6曲入りのシングル曲のミニアルバムです。(日本のみの発売) このグルーブの魅力はこの2曲に集約されていると言っても過言ではないと思うので、どうせ聞くならこの両曲が入っていてジャケも美麗なこのアルバムがお薦めです。プロンディを彷佛とさせるポップで明るい音は特に夏がお薦め。キラキラとした80年代の音が満喫できます。

懐かしいですなあ。
御歳16歳、超ミニの妖精パッツィちゃんの甘ったるい声が、
最高に可愛かったエイス・ワンダー。
その懐かしいヒット曲ばかりで美味しいトコ取りの一枚です。
なんだか久々にエイス・ワンダー聴きたいな、という方、
アイドルポップ好きにもお勧めでございます。
