ミレニアムと兄弟のようなバンドですが、こちらも負けず劣らず素晴らしいバンドです。きれいなコーラスは勿論のこと、なにより曲が良いです。特別に凝った曲があるというわけではないところが逆に何度も聴きたくなる要因なのではないかと思います。コーラスも度が過ぎると逆に嫌気がさすときがあったり、変に荘厳に仕上げられていたりしてなかなか聴く気が起きないときがありますが、このアルバムは基本的にポップなので、そういうこともなく、自然に聴けると思います。

ミレニウムと同じく、ゲイリー・アッシャー、カート・ベッチャーの天賦の才を持った二人によるドリーミーなソフトロック・プロジェクト(68年作)。

サジタリウスはジャケットに示されている射手座を意味する。とはいえ、星占いなどで、火象星座に属するサディスティックな性格とされているような威圧的な雰囲気はこのレコードからは微塵も感じ取れない。ここでの射手座は、限りなくまろやかで柔和なサジタリウスなのである。

実験的でサイケ色が強く初めて聴く者は驚愕せずにはいられないソフトロックの至宝ミレニウムと比較され、こちらのほうが、真っ当なフォーク調のポップスであることから、地味な印象を与えてしまう懸念はあるのだが、聴けば聴くほど味わい深いのはこちらである。ミレニウムとは違った荘厳な落ち着きがこちらにはある。
ミレニウムとサジタリアスのレコーディングは並行して行なわれていたそうで、それを思うと、それぞれ別のしっかりとしたコンセプトを予め打ち立てて、制作されていることは、プログレなどまだ存在しない時代においてかなりエポックメイキングな出来事だっただろう。そういう時期的なことを鑑みると、全く感嘆せずにはいられない。それなのに、聴こえてくる印象はあくまで、スムースで優しく心地よい音楽でしかないところに彼らの懐の深さを感じる。
