冒頭のスパニッシュ・ギター(本作では銘器ブーシェのスパニッシュとギブソンL5Cを使用)を用いた「ジェントル・レイン」、続く「ラメント」の美音は岡安の定評を十二分に裏付けるもの。今回ゲストに藤原清澄(b)と三槻直子(vo)が参加、藤原のアルコ(「クライ・ミー・ア・リバー」)と三槻による伸びやかな歌唱が絶妙のアクセントとなっている。山下暢彦(ds)と金子健(b)による岡安の特質を最大限に引き出すサポートも良い。五感にじんわりと染み込む心地好さ満点、大人のジャズ・アルバム。 (渡辺昌美) --- 2000年06月号

帯に「心地よすぎるのである」とあるが、まさにそのとおり。実は個人的な話だが、心がささくれだってしまった時に聴くアルバムナンバーワンだったりする。
とにかく岡安のギターは一音一音が美しい。ライブで聴くと、音が空間に溶けていってしまうのが惜しい、そんな風に感じてしまうほどだ。
その音がそのまま録音されているアルバムである。

ただ音が美しいだけではない。元々ヘヴィメタルばかり聴いてきた私にとって、一度に音をたくさん出すのはフォークくらいかと思っていたが違ったらしい。ギターを弾けない私でも、一体どうやって一度にたくさんの音、しかも絶妙な和音を出せるのだろうかと考えてしまう。

スタンダードナンバーばかりなので、ジャズ初心者にもおすすめできる。ジャズがなんとなく難しいものだと思っている方にこそ聴いてほしい。
