現在も活動を続けている隠れ名バンド、THE　DUSKFALLの母体だったのが本バンド、GATES　OF　ISHTER。本作は’00年発表の３ｒｄにしてバンド最高傑作、メロデス史上に残る名盤。

憂いを帯びつつも勇壮なメロディを奏でるギター・リフが、名手オスカー・カールソン（dr：現THE　DUSKFALL）の繰り出す軽やかな疾走ビートにのって疾走に疾走を重ねる様は実に爽快。アルバム収録曲のほとんどが疾走曲というのも高ポイント。

やや音質が悪くて、肝心のギターが後ろに引っ込み気味なのが玉にキズだが、なにせ楽曲がカッコいいので許せてしまうんだわ(^_^;)

「IN　FLAMESはカッコいいんだけど、スピード感がなぁ・・・」とか、「AT　THE　GATESのSLAUGHTER　OF　THE　SOULみたいなのないのかよ・・・」というリスナーには是非このアルバムをオススメしたい。

今時のモダンがかったメロデス系とは異なる、北欧叙情デスの風情が好みの向きは特にご一聴あれ！

現DUSKFALLのミカエル・サンドルフが名を上げたバンド。
ザクザクギター＋疾走曲＋メロディー満載で、メロデス好きには文句の付けようがない！！！
全9曲中6曲目まではとにかく突っ走る！スレイヤーの名作"レイン・イン・ブラッド"のテンションを思い浮かばせた上に、北欧の哀愁メロディーが炸裂ですからね・・・もう約8年前の作品ですが飽きがきません。
こんなにいいバンドが、バンド名の所有権のゴタゴタが原因で消滅してしまったなんてもったいない・・・

もう既にレビューに書かれてるように、僕もこの作品は北欧メロディックデスの隠れた名盤だと思います。
最後のインスト以外はひたすら疾走！！ひたすらメロディアス！！！！
泣きメロとかクサメロとか言うよりは純粋に「気持ちいいメロディ」って感じですかね。
速いからそう感じるだけかもしれませんが。
デス声は高めでメロデスでよく聴くタイプの声です。
クリーンで歌う所は一切なし。潔い！！ってこの頃はそれが普通でしたよね。。


メロデス好きはモチロン、速くてメロディアスな音を探している方全員にオススメです。
