香港出身の23歳の女性シンガーによるワールドワイド・デビュー盤。若手だが、すでに中国語のアルバム7枚、英語のアルバム2枚をリリースし、アジア全土の中国語圏で驚異的なセールスを記録しているつわものだ。今回の海外進出ではセリーヌ・ディオンを手掛ける550 Musicと契約を結び、万全の体制で世界を目指す。たしかにすごい才能だ。艶のある声と、かなりレベルの高いヴォーカル・テクニックを持つ。何よりの強みは、いわゆるいまどきのR&Bサウンドを完全に自分のものにしていることだ。日本でもR&Bのフィーリングを備えた若い女性シンガーが出てくるようになったが、ココの場合、英語でアルバム全曲を歌っているので、言われなければ、アジア人アーティストとはわからない。それでも、曲によってはふとしたところで、台湾あるいはアジアらしさが顔を出すときがあり、それをあえて個性としていくかどうかが、課題になるかもしれない。 (茅場礼) --- 2000年05月号

彼女の名前は私も知らなかったけれど、映画の「プリティ・ブライド」のエンディングに使われていた「Before I Fall In Love」でその声にシビレ、とっても彼女のアルバムが聴きたくなりました。
日本人が好きなR&B調で マライアキャリーやジャネット・ジャクソン系の曲調になっているが実にボーカルは迫力あり、実力あり言う事なしです。個人的にはマライアよりも安定しているかもしれません。
彼女もこのアルバムの中で一番気に入っていると言っている「JUST NO OTHER WAY」や「BEFORE I FALL IN LOVE」「I WILL BE YOUR FRIEND」「DON'T YOU WANT MY LOVE」他にも語り尽せないほどいい曲がこのアルバムには詰め込まれている。後悔させない!!!　大人のR&Bのおすすめの一枚です! 彼女の声が頭から離れない・・そう思ったらもう彼女の虜ですよ! 是非一度聴いてみる価値のあるアルバムです。

とっても聞きやすい一枚になっているんじゃないかなと思います。どこかで聞いたことがあるような・・・親しみやすい曲が多いと思いますが。わたしのお気に入りはタイトルにもなっている２曲目と、５曲目ですね。とにかく歌が上手ですよっ。聞いてみる価値はあると思います！
