　ジョーヘンと日本人ミュージシャンの共演アルバム。リズム隊は市川秀男（elp）稲葉国光（b）日野元彦（ｄｓ）の面子。
　とにかく「Junk Blues」が鳥肌ものの名演。ジョーヘンもカッコいいが、日野元彦のドラミングが凄い。日本人でここまでカッコよく叩ける人はいない。日野元彦のインタビューでソニー・ロリンズのバンドで演奏するジャック・ディジョネットを聴いて、「自分がジャックの変わりに叩いても誰も気付かないと思った」と語っていたのを読んだことがある。ホントにその通りなのだ。

　ここには当時の日本の熱いJAZZが記録されている。僕はこの当時の日本のJAZZが好きだ。それはJAZZに対する思い入れが聴いていて伝わってくるから。今は巧くて器用な日本人はたくさんいるが、器用なだけで、聴いたあとに気分が高揚するようなアルバムに出会うことなんてほとんどない。
このアルバムはいつでも僕の気分を高揚させてくれる。

日本でのライブ盤。1970年録音。いきなりジョーヘンのソロでRound midnightが始まる。いきなり絶叫!!途中からリズムが入るのだが、コレが熱い熱い!!もうあおりまくり!ドカンドカンと爆弾をおとしていく。(もちろん、ちょっとテンポが走り気味になるけど)エレピも今聴くとぐっと来るものがあります。全曲とおして、日本製リズム陣がジョーヘンをあおりまくってます。
ジャケットには、しつこく｢ジョー。ヘンダーソン｣とあしらってありますが、全体的な印象として、これは｢ロイキ｣ですね。ブチキレ系の。全然表現形は違うけど、同年代の山下洋輔トリオにも通じるものがある、といったらあまり賛成してくれる人はいないか…でもね、｢日本｣を前面に出して、ジョーヘンと渡り合ったこのブツは、とてもexcitingで、第一日本人のワタクシがとても興奮してしまっており、お勧めできると思います。確かに今の日本のジャズにはない何かがある、と思います。
