当代きっての変態系ギタリスト、デヴィッド・フュージンスキーが送り出す変態ワールドの極地的な作品です。1999年リリース。パット・メセニー、ジミ・ヘンドリックス、ロナルド・シャノンジャクソン、ジョージ・ラッセル、チック・コリア、デューク・エリントンなどの古今東西、ジャズやロックの名曲をフュージンスキーなりの独自の解釈でプレイしていますが、当然のごとく原曲がもつ固定イメージなどはことごとく破壊され、まったく違う変態ワールドが目の前に広がります。このすがすがしいまでの「暴力性」、「音のダッタイト運動」こそフュージンスキーの真骨頂で、音の変態性を極めたい（？）人にとっては必携のアイテムです。

それにしても、1曲目のパット・メセニーの名作「ブライト・サイズ・オブ・ライフ」でのかっ飛んだプレイでいきなり強烈なアッパーパンチを繰り出したかと思えば、3曲目のショパンのプレリュードでのフレットレス・ギターによる破壊力満点の強烈なソロといい、「真面目な音楽愛好家たち」にとってはまさに耐えがたい（笑）プレイの連続。ここまで徹底して変態を極めるとむしろすがすがしささえ覚えます。心臓の弱い方、勤勉を旨に日々を過ごしている方は決して聴かないでください。

David Fiuczynskiは日本では知名度が低いかもしれないが、知る人ぞ知るといった名手である。本作も輸入盤でしか入手できないが、入荷までの待ち時間に膨れあがる期待を裏切らない名演である。ギタリストとしてのテクニックは神技に近いが、上っ面の技術に終わらない音楽への深い理解を聞き手に感じさせるところが凄い。ジミヘン、Ｐ・メセニー、ショパン、スーザなどの名曲のカバーバージョンが収録されているが、David Fiuczynski教授の音楽講座という趣がある。音楽による音楽の解説というメタレベルの解釈・演奏を堪能できるが、シンプルに聴いてもエキサイティングかつ心地よい仕上がりである。ミレニアムで盛り上がる２０００年にサイケなジャケットデザインは満点。

２０００年発表のソロアルバム・・・発売当時はインターネット販売のみでしたので、入手しやすくなって良かった。ＪＡＺＺＰＵＮＫのタイトル通り、よくわからないゴッタ煮状態のカバーアルバムです。カバーと言っても、一筋縄ではいかないアレンジで凄まじく壊れて（？）います。１曲目はパットメセニー、２曲目はジミヘンドリックス、３曲目はショパン・・・とにかくヴァリエーションに富んでいます。ジャケットのダブルネックギターを見ただけで、もう衝動的に買いでした・・・変態ギター炸裂の１枚、すげぇ！！！！
