Adam Pierce's New York label steps out again with a superb percussive orientated album from The Dylan Group, Ur Klang Search. Following a multi-date world tour, the band expanded from two to four members, bringing bass player Scott McGovern and drummer Tyler Pastille on board. The album itself is more accessible than Pierce's own recent Mice Parade longplayer (Mokoondi), a shift to studios in Connecticut for some of the recording shines through, with many of the tracks bristling with an energy that can only be achieved through musicians playing together in one big room. Check "Running In Pairs" or the sprawling horns of "The Road I Know" for a group confident enough to roll with what they know, while still striving to take their sound onwards and upwards.
