コニッツとマイルスの競演盤。クールの誕生でも両者は競演しているが、ここでは、イエスタデイズに見られるようにアブストラクトな前衛性を前面に出しながらも両者の歌心が秘められた名演を聴くことができる。クールとはこの二人のためにあるような気さえするほどかっこよくスマートな演奏である。またインディアン・サマーではボサノバを髣髴とさせる新しさも感じ、コニッツの先進性をうかがうことができる。
