70年代からのコアなファンで、アナログ盤は全て持っているようなマニアの方にも
お勧めいたします。オリジナル・アナログにあった音質の籠りは当然解消され、ヴ
ォーカルの明瞭感が増しており、各楽器の分離も良好です。ぜひイコライジング無
しで聴かれるのをお勧めします。曲の並び方も秀逸。なにげにジャケットも好きです。

カーペンターズは色々なアルバムが出てますが、どれもすばらしい音質だったと思います。それをさらにすばらしい音質で聞けると思い、ＳＡＣＤハイブリットを買いましたが、残念なことにかなりいじくられているようです。ボーカルは甘いし、ベースなどの低音の輪郭もなくなっている。さらには聞き比べてみて判りますが、ボーカルの定位位置すら怪しいのではという感じです。出来ればオリジナルのままリマスターしてＳＡＣＤ化して欲しかった。どこかのメーカーさんお願いします。

名曲ぞろいですし、選曲もすばらしいですが、納得できません。
それというのも完全なオリジナルではないからです。

「青春の輝き~ヴェリー・ベスト・オブ・カーペンターズ」（というかたくさん発売されているベスト盤）もそうなんですが、リチャードがかなり手を加えています。バックの音はもちろんですが、致命的なのはボーカルの加工です。専門的なことはわかりませんが、エコーをかなり加えています。せっかくのカレンの美声が輪郭を失い、表情がぼやけてしまっていて、聴くに耐えません。
さらに言えばこのアルバムは「Singles 1969-1981」ですから、発売当時のオリジナル音源でなければならないと思います。
ベスト盤でしかカーペンターズを聴いたことの無い方は、ぜひオリジナル盤と聴き比べてください。カレンの本当の歌声が聴けますよ。
