「Fly high」「Kanaria」はこのアルバム発売後リカットシングルとして出されたものですし（売り上げが300万に届かなかったためと言われている）、ＢＥＳＴに入っている「Ｗｈｏ...」もアルバム発です。また先行シングルでアルバムヴァージョンとして収録された曲も多く、発売された当時はそんなに「シングル曲でつまらない」とは感じませんでした。何より、アルバムの出来だけでアーティストを評価するとはあまりに狭量な姿勢です。

作品に関しては改めて申すまでもなく秀逸な出来です。IntroductionからＷｈｏまでの流れはとてもスムーズで、前作「Ａ song for XX」からの進歩を感じさせます。

この文章を書いているのは2006年だか、このアルバムは1999年に発売された。個人的には、浜崎あゆみはこの頃が一番輝いていたような気がする。
ひょっとしたら今のファンには、この頃の歌を聴いたことがない人もいるかもしれない。しかし、是非このアルバムを聴いてほしい。特にオススメは『monochrome』この曲は、絶対に聴いてほしい。特に感想等は記載しないが是非、自分の耳で聴いていただけたなら、気に入ってくれる方も多いと思う。

もう６〜７年前の作品です。
今聴くと全体の流れや楽曲の質、聴きやすさなど
バランスの良さでは一番じゃないかと思いますね。
当時追い風を受けながらこのよく出来た作品をリリースしたのだから、
一時期の圧倒的な人気にも納得です。

曲数が多く様々なタイプの楽曲が収められていますが、
声が嫌いじゃなければどれも抵抗無く聴けるでしょう。
聴きやすいだけでなく、
大人と子供の間にいる年代の気持ちを
良い意味で個人的、主観的に表現している歌詞は
普遍性までも含んで今でも超えるものは無いと感じます。
これ以降の作品では頂点に立った者の孤独に比重が置かれますが、
ここでは自分の居場所を求める若者の等身大の孤独が歌われ、
20才でこれだけ鋭く表現していた浜崎って
やっぱスゴイよなぁって思います。

最近の中高生の流行りは倖田さんでしょうが、
今の10代にもこの作品は是非聴いてほしいなぁ。
特に、孤独や何かに漠然とした不満を抱いているような人にとって、
この作品は求めている想いを提示してくれるかもしれませんよ
