ジェイムス・ブラウンが　"Say It Loud, I'm Black And I'm Proud"　と歌い、
スライ＆ザ・ファミリーストーンズが"I want to take you higher"　とシャウトし、
マイルス・デイビスが　"Bitches Brew"　を世に問うた１９６９年。
移り変わる時代を捉えたモータウンの新進プロデューサー、ノーマン・ホイット
フィールドは、こともあろうに、レーベルの看板グループでジェントルが売りの
テンプテーションズに、ラウドでダーティーな　"ファンク・ミュージック"　を
歌わせることを提案します。

「マイ・ガール」しか知らない人は絶対聴いて下さい！　ぶっ飛びます。
別のグループかと思います。
この時代を代表する名曲　"Cloud Nine"　"Papa was a Rolling Stone"
をはじめ、卒倒しそうなシャウトとうねるギターに、アドレナリンが噴出しまくりです。
