あまりにも有名な1枚なのでコメントは難しいのですが、私が洋楽で最初に買ったLPです。今でもたまに聴いています。内容もなかなかヘヴィーなのですが、グレッグレイクの声を聴くと本当に心が洗われるような気がします。この後何枚かアルバムを出しますが、はっきり言って不発ですね。
それほどこのアルバムは凄かったです。2nd発表後、グレッグレイクは、ジミヘンと組むかキースエマーソンと組むか迷った末に・・・
ロックミュージックのなかで本当に重要な1枚だと思います。必ず聴きせう！！

この語り尽くされたアルバムについての私の思い出は、中学生の時友人からこれ（当然アナログ）を借りて聞いたとき誤って45回転で聞いてしまい、あまりのすさまじさに絶句したことである。
これがあまりにすごかったので、33回転で聞きなおしたときはちょっと普通の感じさえした。
CDでは味わえない貴重な経験だったと思う。

プログレ好きな私...これを聞いたときにはぶっ飛びました。1曲目の「21世紀のスキッツォイド・マン(LPでは「21世紀の精神異常者」と表記されていた)」と「クリムゾンキングの宮殿」の過激さ、2曲目から4曲目までの静寂さは見事な対比となっています。3曲目の「エピタフ」は個人的にも最も好きな曲のひとつです。　メンバーの爆発せんばかりの情熱と狂おしいばかりのせつなさを感じていただきたいです。名品 名作。必聴の1枚です。
