ランディ・ニューマンのピアノとニルソンのボーカルが殆どを占めるシンプルなアルバム。
にも関わらずこのドリーミィさは何だろう。

女にふられる度にこのレコードをかけていたことを思い出す。
入れたお茶を半分飲み終わらない内にA面が終わり、
レコードを裏返し目を瞑るといつの間にかB面も終わっている。
何回か繰り返す内に夜が明けている。

俺はこのアルバム、墓まで持っていくぜ。

アメリカを代表するソング・ライターのランディ・ニューマンと、シンガーとしても素晴らしい才能を持つニルソンの出会い。これ以上ないぐらいの、最高のコラボレートです。

「ヴァイン・ストリート」や「ビーハイヴ・ステイト」などは、ニルソン自身の持ち歌のように素晴らしい出来。哀愁漂うランディの名曲を、美声で聴かせるニルソンの、シンガーとしての実力を余すところなく発揮した快作。
