UFO在籍時に肉体的にも精神的にも憔悴したという彼。本作品では、すべてが吹っ切れたかのような素晴らしいギタープレイをたっぷり聴かせてくれる。ファースト・シングルとなったロック・ナンバー<1>をはじめ、本領発揮のインスト・ナンバーでは北欧的透明感がある美しい旋律からスピーディでハードなチューンまで、思う存分弾きまくる。
名曲、秀作がずらりと並んだアルバムの中でも圧巻は<2>。恐らくこれほどドラマティックに幕を明ける曲は後にも先にもないだろう。マイケルのギターは、鮮やかで滑らかで、奏でるメロディはどこか孤独で哀愁を帯びている。ヴォーカルのゲイリー・バーデンについては評価が分かれるところだが、この曲のギターソロのパートで聴かせるシャウトとギターの掛け合いは、間違いなくアルバムの中でも一番の聴かせどころだ。（富良仁 枝実）
