   テクノ系の打ちこみ音がなくなり、彼らの変貌が感じられる10枚目だ。特にシングルのバージョン違いの<2>は、あのMr.BIGのビリーとパットをリズムセクションに迎え、まさに「へヴィーメタルバンド」といったサウンドに仕上がっている。

1999年発売の10th。前年のデビュー10周年記念の二枚のベストアルバムで一区切りつけたからか
このアルバムはサウンド的にかなり吹っ切れていると思う。
のっけから爆音を響かせる『F・E・A・R』にはじまり、シングルver以上にハードな『ギリギリchop (Version 51)』
珠玉のバラード『Brotherhood』、ザック・ワイルド風のへヴィー・ナンバー『ながい愛』と
B'zアルバム史上最重かつ最高の滑り出しを見せる。
その後はややブレーキがかかるというか曲のデキにバラつきはあるが
実にB'zらしいポップな『銀の翼で翔べ』やスパニッシュな『SHINE』など
インパクトのある曲が並ぶ。彼らの再スタートへの強い意気込みを感じる。
ただ先にあげた完成度のバラつきや、アルバム色をひとつにまとめようとした結果、
以前のアルバムと比べて同じような曲が並びやや退屈。

う~ん、個人的にはこのアルバムはB'zのアルバムの中ではあまり良くない方だと思います。
最初の「F･E･A･R」の出だしは、非常にロック感があって、聴いてて気持ちいいんですが、
それ以降は、何だかこのアルバムを盛り上げるような曲がないまま不満足な形で終わってしまっている印象でした。

だから、自分は、B'zのアルバムの中ではあまり聴かないアルバムです。

ベスト盤ばかり聞いていたので、原点に帰ろうということでオリジナルの再評価作業でしばらくぶりに聞き返す。コレはなかなかの力作です。ただ方向性がブリティッシュ・ロック系に偏ってしまった感じがします。彼らの魅力は、ハードロックっぽくポップス的で何でも吸収してごった煮にして、しかもスタイリッシュに盛り付けるところにあると考えていますので、このようにストレートになってしまうとやや魅力半減という評価にならざるを得ないかな・・・。
