人それぞれの好みがあるとは思うが私はSPEEDの中でこのアルバムが最高傑作だと思う。
人気絶頂というか人気はどんどん上がる一方でまさに「RISE」だったSPEEDの2nd ALBUMは300万枚のセールスを記録、
その人気を象徴するかのようなラインナップで、ほとんどのアルバム曲がCMなどのタイアップ曲で聴いた事のある曲ばかりで、TVや街でSPEEDを見ない日はなかったことを思い出させます。

1曲目の「RISE」で４人のゴスペルでありながら音はデジタルで近未来的で不思議な感じで始まってき、2曲目「Sophisticated Girl」はこのアルバムの顔のような曲で歌番組でも披露されたR&B調の曲。また「Body & Soul」から「my graduation」までのタイトルが歌詞にちりばめられている遊び心溢れるカッコいい曲。
#3『Another Sweet Field』と#8『Brand-New Weekend（Varick Street Mix）』もR&B調のカッコイイ感じだけれど若さが溢れる曲。

シングル曲は#4『Wake Me Up!（RISE Mix）』、#5『White Love』、＃11『my graduation（Album Version）』が収録。　SPEEDを代表するバラード曲「White Love」「my graduation」アップテンポのダンスチューンは意外にも「Wake Me Up!」のみです。#4と#11はALBUM Mixですが最初や最後だけが編曲されているだけでシングルとあまり変わらないので大丈夫です！むしろ、LIVEではこのバージョンで披露される事が多く、より良くなっています。

オススメアルバム曲は#6『ラブリーフレンドシップ』、#11『I'll Be All Right』です。どっちもSPEEDらしいアップテンポでカワイイ曲です。歌詞もその年代の乙女心を歌っているけど、どこか大人っぽくてかっこよくもあり、やっぱりかわいくもあり大好きな２曲です。どちらもCM曲になっていたので聴いた事あるはずですよ☆

またSPEEDの隠れた人気曲「熱帯夜」も収録されています。

この時のSPEEDの平均年齢は15歳。まだ若いけれど、同じ年代のこよりも大人っぽくもあり、まだ15歳の女の子達なんだ〜と気づかされる曲もある。SPEEDにしか作れないアルバムです。SPEEDは地上最強のアイドルでありアーティスであった。

９０年代を代表するスーパーユニット

９０年後期の作品となるが、
今でも懐かしく十分に聴ける内容となっている。

「ＳＰＥＥＤ」の歌は久々に聴いたが
歌の歌詞が頭に残っている事に気が付く。

最近の「流す音楽」も悪いものばかりではないのだが
サビの部分でも歌のフレーズが思い出せるのは
本物だった証拠だろう。

やはり歌詞が残らない歌手はＳＰＥＥＤに限らず
インパクトだけでは後世に残らないと言う事になる。

歌の上手さはそこそこでも
インパクト＋強力なプロディース力が不可欠であり
なによりそれがかみ合わなければ意味がない。

ＳＰＥＥＤは伊秩弘将氏という最強の力を得て
見事に開花した「後世に残るスーパーユニット」である。

バラエティ豊かなポップR&Bアルバムですね。何でもアリな感じを出しながらも優等生感漂ってるアルバムです。

思えばこのアルバムを最後に大人びた、ちょっと悪ぶってる曲は激減しますよね…はっちゃけていて楽しそうなSPEEDのピークがこのアルバムには凝縮されてます。

Ｗｈｉｔｅ　Ｌｏｖｅ収録されてて、かなりＯＫ。
ＳＰＥＥＤファンの方は絶賛。
甘くて苦い女の子の恋愛の曲の数々は、とてもいいと思う。
