　陽水の初期の曲は、なつかしく。現代のナンバーは、安心して聴く事ができます。このアルバムは、両者を兼ねそろえたもので、懐かしい中にも安心して聴く事ができます。
　「少年時代」「リバーサイドホテル」などは、陽水のオリジナル曲として現代的な曲です。
　パフィーの「アジアの純情」、中森明菜の「飾りじゃないのよ涙は」、ほかに「ワインレッドの心」や「ダンスはうまく踊れない」など、カバーされた曲を、陽水のオリジナルとして歌い上げているのは、大変心地よい限りです。
　デビュー当時から現代に至るまでの、メロディ・メーカーとしての陽水を聴く事ができるアルバムです。

私が小学校３年生だった頃に初めて聴いたレコードが、
叔父さんが聴いていた陽水の「氷の世界」でした。
当時、アニメの主題歌や童謡しか知らなかった私は、
強烈な衝撃を受けた記憶があります。

今、再び「氷の世界」を聴いてみたのですが、
少しも古い感じがしないのに驚きました。
むしろ、今の若い人たちにもうけるんじゃないかと思うほどです。
まさしく「天才」陽水を感じるには、ベストなアルバムです。

今まで沢山陽水のベストは出たけど、どれも納得のいくようなものではなかったように思う。それがこのベストではキャリアの長い井上陽水の全時代からのベストが聞ける。「アルバムまでは買わないけど、聞くのは好きなアーチスト」というのは、必ず誰にでもいると思う。井上陽水をそんな感じで受け止めている「若い」世代にも、このベストはとても向いていると思う。サウンドもクリアだし、個人的には選曲が好きだ。癒しでもありシニカルでもあり棘もある、不思議なアーチスト井上陽水。買って絶対に損はしないと思う。
