マ-ク・ハ-マン率いるCOOL ROCK 'IN BAND RESTLESSのデビュ-アルバム。いきなり1曲目から切れ味鋭いギタ-オリエンテッドなネオロカが小気味イイ!マ-ク・ハ-マンの声も、とにかくロカビリ-っぽくてカッコいい。泥臭さが一切なく、涼しげでマイルドなボ-カルは魅力充分でsexyです! 曲はストレ-トで勢い任せな感じがするし、ノリ重視な印象なんで単調かもしれない。 RETLESS初期名盤と誉れ高い1st&2nd・・評価が分かれるとこだけど、イケイケな勢いと小気味良さでは本作が、メロディ&完成度では次作が勝ると思う。 いずれにしろ、ネオロカFanは必ず通る道!!

言わずと知れた（その筋では）彼らのファースト。ジャケットもアナログほぼそのままなのが嬉しいです。なぜかベン・クーパーがまんなかにいるのが不思議ですが。これではベンがメインなのかと勘違いしてしまう方もいらっしゃるかも知れませんので蛇足ながら、向って右のにいちゃんマーク・ハーマンがメインボーカルです。内容的にはもろオーセンティックなロカで、少し線が細く、ストレイ・キャッツのような華が無いのが難点といえば難点です。が、私はかなり気に入ってます。「ロング・ブラック・シャイニー・カー」は彼らの持ち歌の中でも特に評価の高い逸品です。是非聴いて下さい。初心者の方でも抵抗なく聴けると思います。デイブ・フィリップスのバックバンド（ホット・ロッド・ギャング）からひとり立ちした記念すべき作品です。ネオロカを語る上では外せないアルバムだと思います。必携です！！

マーク兄弟でプレイしてた頃の、初期レストレスの名盤です。音もシャープできれがあり、オリジナルも素晴らしいです。”ロング・ブラック・シャイニー・カー”、”ＬＡＴＥＲ”のカバー選曲も通好み。買って間違いなしです。
