’７０年代の中期にイギリスで最も売れたバンドの一つで、
噂でギネスにも申請されたほどの実力者。
このバンドも、一人の「天才」によって成り立っていた
バンドであり、その人物こそ、ジェフ・リンという者で、
彼は無類のビートルズマニアとして数々のビートルズ系の
ソングライティング振りをこのバンドで披露している。
まぁ、マネっぽいと言えばそうなるかもしれないが、
大ヒットして知名度を上げている事から考えれば
世間的に認められてる証拠だろう。
このバンドの特徴は先の「ビートルズ系」の
ＰＯＰバンドで、その名の通りＰＯＰ
オーケストラを具現化しているのだ。
そして、このアルバムは２曲の大ヒットがあるのだが、
私はこの２曲を聴いてアルバムを即買いしたのだ。
全体を通して、エレクトリカルな部分とオーケストラ
じみた感じに「一人レノン・マッカートニー」のジェフ・リンの
作詞作曲＆プロデュースにより、’８０年代のPOP系ソングの
時代の流行とかが、上手く融合して、すごく聴きやすい。
そんなに、メジャーなアルバムでもないですが、
もう’８０年代の曲を好きな人は迷わず買いだと思います。
