映画の内容と同様に軽快なリズムのラテン系の音楽（歌）と、
ハンスジマー作曲のメインテーマ（インストルメント）が収録されています。
ハンスジマーの他の作品には
｢ザ・ロック｣、｢ピースメーカー｣、｢ラストサムライ｣などで、
｢パイレーツオブカリビアン｣にも参加しています。

この｢クールランニング｣では上記のような力溢れるリズムとは一味違った曲風が楽しめます。

輸入版の利点は価格が安いところです。
サントラなので歌詞が英語でも問題ありませんので、
それでかまわないという人にはオススメです。

リアルタイムではないがレンタルビデオ（！）でずいぶん前に観た映画であるが、当時人気だったキャンディがコーチ役でいい味を出している。彼は『大災難』とういこれまた素晴らしいハートフルコメディにも出演しているので興味がある方は是非。話はそれたがレビュー対象の作品はそのハートフルコメディの大傑作である『クール・ランニング』のサントラ。興味深い良質のレゲエと、今となっては映画音楽界の巨匠の一人であるハンス・ジマーによるスコア2曲が入った良作である。個人的にはなんと言ってもダイアナ・キングのSTIR IT UPが好きなのだが、映画を観てから聴くもよし、聴いてから映画を観るもよし、いずれにしても公開から何年も経過していながらサントラだけはこうして売られていること自体、良作の証でもある。ジャケットデザインも素晴らしく、できれば紙ジャケット、SHM-CDとして再発されることを密かに期待している。

映画『クール・ランニング』のサウンド・トラック集。
インストが２曲。あとは気持ちの良いレゲエ・サウンドが収録されています。

The Wailing Soulsの『Wild Wild Life』をはじめ、Jimmy Cliffの『I Can See Clearly Now』、
そしてDiana Kingの『Stir It Up』、これがめちゃくちゃかっこいい！
映画の陽気なイメージをそのまま音楽作品として詰め込んだ素敵な一枚です。
晴れた日に海なんかで聴いたら最高に気持ち良い！
レゲエって体で感じる音楽なんだなって事がよくわかるアルバムです。

映画自体が好きな人はもちろん、レゲエが好きな人、またレゲエを聴いてみたいって人にもオススメです。
名曲『I Can See Clearly Now』は、キムタクのドラマ（『エンジン』）の主題歌にもなっていたので、レゲエに詳しくない人でも聴き覚えがあると思います。
