元ＥＵＲＯＰＥのギタリストのソロ２作目。
　１作目「トータル・コントロール」も日本人のツボを押えた佳作でしたが、本作はそれ以上。メロディアスでハードで哀愁を湛えていて・・・。ＥＵＲＯＰＥの１、２作目を理想のジョン･ノーラム像とする貴兄は、満足すること請け合いです。
　ヴォーカリストはジョン自身、グレン・ヒューズ（元DEEP PURPLE）、そして何と喧嘩別れしたはずのジョーイ・テンペスト（EUROPE）までもが参加。それぞれが持ち味を十分に発揮し、アルバムに変化を持たせています。
　１．楽曲の充実、２．ハイ・クオリティなプロダクション、３．ファンの理想像の体現、などを勘案すると、彼のキャリアにおける最高傑作と言って差し支えないでしょう。そう、この後のジョンは、「ヘヴィー」に傾倒。ファンの理想から遠く彼方へ迷走の旅に出てしまいます。（2006年現在、未だ帰って来ていません．．．）

【参考１】tr4「OPIUM TRAIL」はTHIN LIZZYのカバー。ジョンがフィル・ライノットをリスペクトしているのは有名。
【参考２】tr9「ENDICA」は、後に自身のソロ・アルバム「WORLDS AWAY」で、セルフ・カバー。しかもボーカル入りで。
【参考３】tr10「STILL THE NIGHT」は、PHENOMENAのファースト・アルバムに、グレン・ヒューズのボーカルで収録されていた佳曲。本作でもグレンが歌ってます。

　元EUROPEのギタリスト、John Norumが９２年に発表したソロ２作目。元DEEP PURPLEのベーシスト＆ヴォーカリストであり、ＨＭ／ＨＲ界でも屈指のソウルフルな歌唱力を持つ、Glenn Hughesをヴォーカルに迎えた、実にカッコイイアルバム。EUROPE時代のような叙情的な曲はなく、カラリと乾いたサウンドのＨＭナンバーが多い印象。Johnのソロ・アルバムでは一番おすすめ。また、Glenn以外のメンバーはDon Dokkenのソロでも一緒にプレイしたPeter Baltes（b）、Hempo Hilden（dr）が参加している。

　（１）はこのアルバムのハイライトとも言えるハード・チューンで最高にカッコイイ。ヘヴィなミディアム・チューンの（２）、僚友Joey Tempestが歌う（５）、これまたDon Dokkenのソロでの相棒だったBilly White（g)が参加しているリフが印象的な（７）、インスト・ナンバー（９）、ちょっとポップな（１０）、Glennのヴォーカルが冴えるスピード・チューン（１１）など、かなりの佳曲揃い。個人的には、Max Norman独特のレンジの狭いミックスがちょっと気になるが...。
　また、是非John NorumとGlenn Hughesのコンビを聴きたいところだが、Johnは音楽性以外でのGlennの言動には、かなり呆れてたらしいから、当分無理だろう。
