78年に発表され、前作「エレガントジプシー」同様、ギタープレイヤー誌で「年間ベストギターアルバム」に輝いたディメオラ３枚目のアルバムです。

哀愁に満ち、時にミステリアスなメロディに、スティーブガッド、アンソニージャクソン、バリーマイルスといったテクニシャンの演奏、さらにディメオラの超高速かつメロディアスなギターが加わり、非常に聴き応えのあるアルバムになっています。もちろん、5ではディメオラお得意のスパニッシュな演奏が楽しめますし、4ではＲＴＦの曲をカバーしていますので、オリジナルと聴き比べる楽しみもあります。
エレクトリックディメオラ絶頂期のサウンドが堪能できるアルバムです。

ディメオラが1978年に発表したアルバムです。参加ミュージシャンは、アンソニー・ジャクソン（ベース）、スティーブ・ガット（ドラム）、バリー・マイルス（シンセ）というこの時期での不動のメンバー。初期の重要な曲である、1「Egyptian Danza」、2「Chasin' The Voodoo」、4「Senor Mouse」などの名曲が目白押しで、息つく暇を与えてくれません。いま改めて聴いてみると、ほかのギタリストでも演奏できそうな内容かもしれませんが、1恐怖の弾丸ピッキング、2実に効果的なミュート奏法、ラテンテイストあふれるきらびやかなフレーズの3点セットは、当時のギター小僧たちにとっては、まさに憧憬の的でした。ただ、ディメオラ本来の真価はライブでこそ十分に発揮されることは、誰の目にも明らかでヤン・ハマーが加わり1982年に発表された「ツアー・デ・フォース・ライブ」でのド迫力の演奏と比較してしまうと、粒が揃いすぎて面白みに欠ける面がないわけではありません。
