本作は、８２年のゴージャスなライヴ録音で、ロキシー・ミュージックが第２次解散状態だった９０年にリリースされた。オリジナル・メンバーはフェリー、フィル・マンザネラ、アンディ・マッケイの３人のみだが、アンディ・ニューマークのドラムや女性バック・コーラス等の豪華なサポートを得ている。ロキシーのライヴは７０年代、８０年代（本作）、そして０１年の再々結成ライヴ（ＣＤ２枚組）が代表的だが、曲数・選曲の多様性の点で、本作は７０年代のものを上回るが０１年のものには若干劣る（ＣＤの枚数が少ないこともあるが、０１年のものよりロキシー初期の曲が少ない）。しかし、フィル及びフェリーのソロ作から１曲ずつ、そしてアヴァロンのように複数曲選ばれている例外もあるが、デビュー作を除くロキシーのオリジナル・アルバムから偏りなく１曲ずついかした代表曲を採り上げた選曲には満足できる。さらに、ニール・ヤングの名曲ライク・ア・ハリケーンとジョン・レノン追悼のジェラス・ガイのカヴァーが秀逸。特に、ライク・ア・ハリケーンのロキシー又はフェリーのカヴァーはこの時期限定なので、約８分の熱演はロキシー、ニールの両方のファンにとって必聴だ。成熟したシンガーとして絶頂期にあったフェリーの声の艶やかさの魅力がいかんなく発揮され、この点では若干声の衰えを感じる部分がある０１年のライヴを上回る。本作の映像版が「ハイ・ロード」で、両者を比較すると、ボブ・クリアマウンテンＭｉｘ、曲順の変更等、編集が行われたことがわかる。当然本作の方が音の作品として洗練度は高い。

結論として、フレッシュ・アンド・ブラッドから１曲しか選ばなかった点とアヴァロンから夜に抱かれてが選ばれていない点を差し引いても、ロキシー８０年代全盛期の名ライヴとして高く評価したい。私は本作が大好きだ。

Roxyの82年のライブ。Ferryのソロに近いイメージですが、それでもRoxyらしさが楽しめます。バックのミュージシャンがかっちり固めて、ソリッドなサウンドが心地よいです。John LennonとNeil Youngのカバーが素敵です。FerryのJealous Guyを聞くだけでもぜひ手に入れたいアルバムです。

僕はミニライブアルバム「ハイロード」が気になっていました。CD版を手に入れたかった。しかし発売されません。Can't Let Go、Like A Hurricane、My Only Love、Jealous Guyがおさめられていました。Heart Still Beatingの音源と同一のようです。だからこのアルバムを購入することで欲求を満たしました。
