   1974年発表の4枚目のアルバム。発売当時、セクシーなジャケットが物議をかもし、アメリカでは2人の女性の姿を消されたジャケットに差し替えられた。
   肝心の内容はといえば、バンドとしてのまとまりを増した彼らが、高いテンションで最後まで突っ走る快心作となった。デビュー当時「ノン・ミュージシャンの集まり」などと言われた彼らからは想像もつかないほど、力強さやグルーヴを感じさせる演奏。
   また楽曲はさらにポップで親しみやすくなり、ソングライターとしてのブライアン・フェリーの充実ぶりがビシビシと伝わってくる。

ロキシーミュージックの中でも特にギラギラしたサウンドが強調されたアルバム。彼らは1枚ごとにテーマがタイトルになってて明確ですが、まさしくアメリカンカントリーミュージックを英国人なりの解釈を思い起こす曲がメインになっています。前作から加入のエディジョブソンもイーノに劣らず器用な人でヴァイオリンで効果的に演出する場面もあり、仏語で歌われた前作のヨーロッパ哀歌の続編ともいうべきから独語の歌詞の曲など聞かせ所多数。ファンの方は全アルバムをお持ちだと思いますが、ブリットポップのルーツ的にロキシーのサウンドを聞かれる方には今回の高音質で1番最初に聞いてほしいアルバムです。きっと他の彼らアルバムも聞きたくなる程素晴らしいです。

前作ストラッテッドではイーノの抜けた穴を見事成功に導き！！ヨーロピアンロマンティックを完成させた彼らのアメリカ進出に向けた意欲作です！！アメリカ盤ジャケットでは2人の女性？が消され草だけにもかかわらず内容がダウントゥアース的なサウンドを想起させるような曲調が並びます。そして最終曲ではテキサスを連呼しハーモニカの音も味わい深いアルバムになっています。次のサイレンではもっと中間的にまとめられていますが、このアルバムはそういった意味で別のファンを多く好まれています。後にブライアンフェリーはソロアルバム「ベールを脱いだ花嫁」と「フランティック」では同様のアプローチを見せるのでこのジャンルも彼のとても好きな部類なのだと思います。アメリカ音楽を英国人によって消化しました名作です

左側の女性の彼氏の妹だとか。
フェリイがたまたまバカンスで滞在していた別荘の隣に遊びに来ていたそうです。

初めは不透明ビニールに包んで売られて、
これが“Wish You Were Here”のアイデアになったということです。

フェリイはドイツ語も下手です。（Bitter Sweet)

Sirenまでのアルバムはどれも傑作ぞろい！
