ヴォーカルとギターは、
ロック界の巨匠二人ですが、
この二人を支えるリズム隊も強者が揃っています。
ベースにベイビース、バッド・イングリッシュのリッキー・フィリップス。
ドラムスにはハートのデニー・カーマッシー。
日本公演には揃ってきてくれました。
フロントの二人の影になってしまいましたが、
玄人好みの職人という仕事ぶりです。

A&Mのジョン・カロドナーが仕掛けた策略とはいえ、
それだけに止まらず質の良いハードロック、
これで興奮しない、つまんないなんていう人がいたら病気ですよ。

まさかまさかデイビッドとペイジが組むなんて、あの当時、誰も想像しなかったのではないでしょうか？

その夢のようなアルバムがこれです。

ジミーペイジが自ら封印していたであろうレッドツェッペリンの作曲手法を復活させ、元祖リフメーカー健在を示しました。流石のアイデアです。

デイビッドカバデールは、かなり今回は高音シャウトボーカルを多用しています。王子プラントを意識してしまったのか？はわかりません。個人的にはあの魅惑の中低音域ボーカルをフューチャーして欲しかったです。でもこのアルバムはそれでも問題ございません。

当時、ドラムがボンゾ、ベースがジョンジーぐらいのレベルならば・・・などとそこら中で言っていました。もちろん同意しますが、なんのなんの、ロックの巨匠二人の見事なアルバムですよ。

1993年に発売された、ハードロックの巨匠二人による気合の入った作品である。
ツェッペリン解散以降のジミー･ペイジといえば、ポール･ロジャースと地味なバンドを組んだり、古いブルーススタイルのギター･プレイに先祖帰りしたりして、意識してツェッペリン路線を避けてきたように思う。
ただし、いずれも今一つこけていたので、ツェッペリン再結成が事実上不可能な以上、この路線は最後の賭けになると認識していたのかもしれない。
カヴァーデイルは例によって彼独特の唄い回しがホワイトスネイクとどこが違うんだ？ってなところだが、曲はなかなか聴き応えがあって、往年のファンは血が騒ぐだろう。
ただ、例によって長続きはせず、この作品のせいかどうかは知らないが、1994年には、ロバート･プラントとジミー･ペイジでアルバムを出す事になる。
