   ジョンスペといえば「完全に生まれてきた時代を間違えたようなアグレシッヴ＆ブルージーなロックンローラー」というのが一般的なイメージなわけだが、実はBECKやビースティ・ボーイズなどの90年代を彩ったロック・アーティストと同様、作品ごとに多様なサウンド・バリエーションへのトライアルを見せる知性派のミュージシャンでもある。ロックンロールを音楽的・理論的にとらえ、作品に鋭い批評性と適度な新鮮さを加えながら音楽シーンをサバイブしていく彼の資質は今作にもしっかりと浮かび上がっていて、ヒップホップのテイストを取り入れたナンバーなどはその顕著な例といえるだろう。
   しかし、作品全体から感じられるヴァイヴはやはり、「イエーイ！ ロックンロール!!」だったりするのがジョン・スペのすごいところ。知性に足を取られすぎてグルーヴ感を失うことも単なるロック・バカに成り下がることもなく、ロックンロールのもつ熱を現代的なサウンドで体現できる才能は、本当に稀有。ロックンロールというスタイルの「新しさ」を体感できる1枚。（森 朋之）

JSBXの名盤ともいえる4ｔｈアルバム。終始ジョンスペ節が炸裂しまくってます。日本版にはボーナストラックが収録されているのでおすすめします！ストレートにロックしてるにもかかわらずハチャメチャな斬新さも兼ね備えてるこのバンドはすげえ。かっけえもんは何でもやるみたいな雰囲気満載です。シンプルながらも重くファンキーなドラム、どこかブルージーで尚且つ突き刺さるようなリフ。そしてジョンスペの絶叫、唸るテルミン！！ただのブルース寄りのロックンロールと思ったら火傷しちまうぜ！って感じ。JSBXは最高にクレイジーでパンクでロックでセクシーでかっこいいぜ！！

スタートさせてから最後の曲が終わるまで、まるでテンションが落ちないタフさがJSBXです。どこを切ってもアグレッシブ、バンドで音を鳴らすことのカッコよさを体現してくれています。キッズに楽器を持たせる威力を持った人ってなかなかいなくなった今、とても貴重なバンドではないでしょうか。

とりあえずは“ブルース”を名乗っていますが、それは屋台骨のシミンズとバウアーの的確なプレイに限って言える事。そこにジョンのプルトニウム・ソウルを注入する事によって、ブルースが“Explosion！”するんですね~。ベースレスでトリオなんて、普通ウイークポイントとしか思えませんが、アイデアと勢いで充分補っているし、むしろこのサウンドにベースは必要なし！ルーツ・ミュージックに対するジョンスペの新しい解釈だと思います。激渋！　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　「エルビスのソウルを感じる！」
