巷では「80's」というジャンルが確立されているようですが、やっぱりこの時代の「洋楽」は個性的で、パワーがありますよね。
(あまり一括りにして欲しくないんですけど・・・)

あのころは、貧乏な学生時代だったので、LPをレンタルレコード店で借りてよく聞いていました。このごろは音楽をWEBラジオで聴く機会が多いのですが、そこで流れてきたのが「Don't Dream It's Over」でした。あの気持ちのいいサウンドは不滅ですね。

あらためて聴き直してみると、このバンドのレベルの高さが再認識できました。知ってる人はもとより、Crowded House を知らない人に、ぜひ紹介したいアルバムです。

こんなに良い作品を残しながらも解散しなければならない、というのがとても残念です。こんなバンドが他にもたんさんいるんだろうな~と思ってしまいました。素敵なメロディーに繊細でときには力強いヴォーカル。捨て曲なしのアルバムだと思います。

　解散記念に出されたベスト盤でこのバンドを代表する大ヒット曲Don't Dream it's Over,Something so strongやここでしか聴けない新曲3曲が収録されたお買い得盤です。

　聴いていて改めてリーダー、二ール･フィンの才能が生み出した素晴らしい楽曲達、温かみのあるヴォーカルの美しさにジ~ンときてしまった。こういう何のギミックもない、純粋にいい曲を書きいい歌を歌う人がいなくなってきているのは本当に寂しいことだ。

　ビートルズ直系の美しいメロディラインが冴え渡る3や6、美しいフォーク･ソング7、まだまだやれるじゃない！と思わされるノスタルジックな美しさに涙する新曲10そして、反戦をテーマにしたこのバンド最大のヒットにして最も感動的な名曲5は今、こんな世の中だからこそ聴かれるべきだと思う。

　改めて惜しいバンドを無くしたものだと痛感させられました･･･。
