復活したARB待望のフル・アルバム。昔と変わらぬ男気あふれるロックンロールが中心ながら,ファンク・ビートの導入やアコースティックなバラードなど,多彩なアレンジで彼らの今を歌う。とはいえ基本はパワフルなロックで直球勝負を挑む姿勢が潔い。

なんでも長く続けていると、錆びたり苔むしたり、垢みたいなものが付着しがちだ。それなのに、このARB復活第2弾の軽やかさはどうだろう。そういうものを作れるという確信があったからこそ復活したのだろうけど。年を重ねていくことはそんなに悪いことだとは思わないが、おっさんくさい感じというのはやっぱりいいもんじゃない。繰り返される説教とか、後ろ向きなイメージが強いからだ。ARBはそんなものとは、あいかわらず無縁でソリッド。タイトル・ソング(3)はクールでファンキーな曲だし、(6)は逆にアッパーなファンク・ナンバー。いくつかの曲にはデジタル・ビートも取り入れられ、今までの彼らと違うようで、基本は同じなところがいい。それもスタイルだけ導入したという形骸的なものではなく、十分にこなれた形で発表されているのだから、オトナでしかできない作業といえるだろう。スピリチュアルな匂いを感じさせる(5)は、まさに感動的。 (楡崎明生) --- 1999年09月号
