普段、弾きまくってるデイブ・ムステインさんがボーカルの方に集中（ウエイトを置いた）した。かっこいいよ！チクショー。ボーカルとして声が特殊だって、更によく知れました。ジャンルは違えど（変えても）、さすがにスーパーリフメーカー。音符減らしても、その分スタイリッシュにクールなとこ築いてくれます。こえも良い、楽曲も素晴らしい、デイブさんは美しい、のに、どうしてもっとハードロックにしないんだ。（今回、そういう主旨でしょ？）メインギターはカッケーのに、サイドギターだせ。少し低音ギターふりかけてください。なんか半端です。（個人的に）あー、もどかしい。もっといろんな面、売り込めよ。すげえじゃんこのアルバム。

　自分が自分でなくなってしまう…　MEGADETHの存在価値自体を脅かすリスクを背負って製作された今作。全体的にハードロック色の強い作風に仕上がっているが、個人的にはお気に入りの一枚に挙げたいほどの良作です。
　「もっとキャッチーに」「もっと柔らかく」「売れ筋を考えて」というレコード会社の思惑にはまってしまう事を余儀なくされながら、それでも精一杯の反抗を各所に加えながら作られた感じがどの曲にも見られて、胸が熱くなってしまう感じさえします。
　ボーナストラックは個人的には全く不必要ですが、聴く価値は充分あるアルバムだと思います。きっとガッカリはしないと思いますよ。

個人的に凄くお気に入りの一枚。ムステインのセンスの高さが匂う完成度の高い作品。インソムニア、プリンスオブ・・と中々格好の良いへヴィナンバーが並ぶ。リスクというアルバム名も好きですね。ムステインはキャラクターと才能が凄いと思うんですが、これはその中でも、冒険をしつつ、新しい曲構成を試みた意欲作だと思います。
